🎬 Event Information
We had the honor of presenting to, hosting, and working with, some of western Michigan’s greatest and brightest in law enforcement, public safety, and economic growth.
In close partnership with Paul Doyle of Grand Valley State University (GVSU), we kicked off the day with a fantastic brainstorming session with Chief Eric Winstrom, Grand Rapids PD; Chief Brandon DeHaan, GVSU Director of Public Safety; Sean Burns, Director of Security for Kent Co Intermediate School District; and Lorie Liebrock, Director New Mexico Cybersecurity Center of Excellence. For lunch, our COO Tony Brown moderated an inspiring panel at our official Grand Rapids launch with Scott Swann, CEO of ROC; Anil Jain, Distinguished Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Michigan State University; Joshua Engelsma PhD, Senior Scientist, ROC; and Zach DeBruine PhD, Assistant Professor, GVSU.
As Scott Swann described, “Grand Rapids has welcomed ROC with an incredible reception – from technology innovators to forward-thinking security professionals. We’re actively training the next generation of computer vision engineers at GVSU by challenging GVSU students to build novel applications around ROC’s computer vision technology. And we’re exploring operational testing scenarios for ROC technologies at schools and municipal facilities that put Grand Rapids at the vanguard of public safety capabilities and provide ROC with an invaluable operational testing environment.”
