Being honest about Ai utilizing the big two: Gemini and CoPilot; A real world case study.
So it’s time to honest about Ai, specifically the big two, CoPilot and Gemini… which dominant the business sector.
Real Facts: Last month, just before the holidays, I spent 20 min with a Director of Finance for a large luxury conference group, showing some of the basics of CoPilot in Excel. They were using Excel as the foundational dialog for current PnL and predictive modeling for the upcoming year to the owners. On average, over the last 2 years, this prep work alone took about 2 weeks and was incredibly stressful as it sets significant weight in where money is invested for 2026.
After 4 hours of practice with CoPilot Excel, two weeks of work was cut to 1.5 days with the help of suggestions on newer formulas, two formula errors that were caught relating to fixed market figures, and data automation pulls in Excel they had not previously known of.
I get it, Social Media Ai can be incredibly funny. However, throwing out misleading, or flat out fake, information about critical business Operational use cases is a disservice to those still on the fence, or perhaps newer in their careers.
We will never see a post about someone with Ai experience in their field winning out vs those without. You’re simply going to see post after post about sending out 10,000 resumes and no responses. I would absolutely be crushed to know that it was some fake joke I posted about Ai selling their private data to aliens when they used it that convinced them that avoiding it still has them as strong of a candidate compared to those with Ai experience and framework knowledge in a hiring comparison.
2026: less talk, more do, I’ve started reporting these ‘jokes’ as misleading information posts. Gen-Ai dogs with 2 tails riding a surfboard are still golden and gladly liked! 😂
